Carbon Mask Laser Facial
AKA Hollywood Facial or Hollywood Peel, this non-invasive procedure uses carbon and heat to brighten, exfoliate, tighten pores, and even-out skin tone. The laser also activates collagen and elastin production leaving you with smooth, plump, radiant skin.
How does it work?
We open the pores with a nice warm towel and then apply a carbon mask, allowing the carbon to penetrate deep into the skin to bond with debris (oil, contaminats, dead skin cells). We then activate the carbon with the laser where the heat destroys the particles in your pores along with the dirt, oil and dead skin. The energy from the laser also heats deep into the layers of the skin where the collagen and elastin are produced.

How should I prep for the carbon mask laser facial?
Pretty simple; stop using retinol and retinoids, and any other exfoilating products/chemicals (BHA, AHA) for 1 week prior to treatment.
What does a carbon mask laser facial feel like?
While everyone has a different comfort level, the carbon mask laser facial is considered to be a painless treatment. Some have described it as there being a prickly sensation or a feeling little heat. Nothing too crazy.
How long does the facial take?
The carbon mask laser facial goes by many names, but the “Lunchtime peel” is the most accurate description because it produces the best results in the shortest amount of time! With a little prep and chat time, you’re on your way out into the world in under an hour.
What does aftercare look like?
Immediately after and for the following week: moisturize, gentle cleanser and no harsh exfoliants. Avoid retinol/retinoids as well. WEAR SUNSCREEN DAILY (forever and always).
Oily and acne-prone skin types will need to stick with gentle acne-reducing ingredients to mitigate breakouts without compromising the skin.
Are the results permanent?
While the results are dramatic and immediate, they’re not permanent. Lifestyle, habits, skin care, age – all play a role in how long the results will last. Some improvements will last longer than others and are unique to everyone.
How many treatments will I need?
It really depends on your goals. Do you want to treat yourself to a skin refresh? Do you want to look amazing for your wedding? Then 1 treatment is all you need.
Do you have acne scaring or severe acne breakouts that are unresponsive to other treatments? Then you’ll need a series of treatments.
Treating fine lines and wrinkles? 2 -3 might be magic number.

How does it work?

What to expect at your session
At your appointment, we’ll do a brief consultation where we’ll identify the areas to be treated. These areas will be marked with a white pencil and photos will be taken to track progress. You’ll get comfy and patches will be placed. The laser will be used to activate the photo acoustic effect in the carbon patch, targeting and breaking the fibrous bands that create the dimpling. You may feel pressure as we press the optic* into the patch and some warmth. Once we’re done with both sides, we’ll take after photos and you’ll be off and running!
*Optic: a small, round lens that allows us to cover the patch evenly and quickly. We hold this between the patch and the laser.
Is there any aftercare or restrictions?
No recovery or restrictions, at all! You may be slightly pink in the treatment area but this is temporary. The laser doesn’t make any contact with your skin, the magic happens deep under the surface. You just see smoother skin!
How many treatments before I see a difference?
Improvement can usually be seen after the first treatment, but 2-3 is recommended for best results. However, you can do more or less – whatever makes you feel your best!
Sessions are scheduled every 3-4 weeks, with final results seen 4-6 weeks after last treatment.
Are the results permanent?
As with many non-invasive treatments, no. BUT results are dependent on many factors that are unique to each person: lifestyle, habits, age, genetics, etc. Your results may last longer than some, not as long as others. Maintenance sessions are suggested but not required.
